By the end of this lesson
- Recognise all 28 letters on their own
- Say each letter's name
- Read a line of letters from right to left
Arabic is written and read from right to left. The Quran uses 28 letters, plus the hamzah (ء), a short catch in the throat. In this lesson you'll learn each letter on its own. Later lessons show how they join together.
Read each row from the right. Say the name out loud. Don't worry about perfect pronunciation yet; that comes in lesson 3.
